The Impossible.
January 14, 2009
My husband trumped me and asked our sister in law to come over and cut Macen’s hair. In my defense, I think I’ve done a pretty good job considering…. considering he’s 3 (about to be 4) and won’t sit still for anything. But, I humored him and played on the laptop the entire cut, peeking over the screen to cheese out on how awful Macen was acting. Just like he does for me.

Yes, his hair was in dire need of some attention. I wish we could just let it grow, but what do you do with boys bangs when they’re in their eyes? Hats will only get you so far. He can’t wear a hat to church can he? No. Anyway….

He hates the camera. It took a little coaxing to get him to show me his hair. I want you to get the full effect here.

Oh this makes me laugh! I love my boy! Them’s some jacked up bangs! NO ONE can cut his hair straight. Chris even had him in a head lock during the cut and it still didn’t work.
The best is yet to come.

Can you see the Vanilla Ice stripe there on the side? NOT intentional, I assure you. She was trying to even up the sides with clippers and sure as rain, my son moves. Not on just the one side, but on both sides. Visions of Kid N Play dance around in my head.

If we “feather” the bangs, it’s not as noticeable…. but maybe worse in a whole other way.

Yep, that would be dust. I took a picture of it as a last ditch effort to shame myself into getting back into my daily routine of reading it more. I do read Chris’, but mine has been very neglected…. signing off and going to work on that. Have a happy Wednesday friends. xoxo, Amy
I love his expression in that first shot – classic.
I had haircut duty for a long time. And with five boys, I can assure you there is only 1 answer to that problem. The #2 guard on the trimmer, buzz cuts for everyone. You may hate to see your boys locks disapear, but will you hate it as much as the jacked up cut? It grows back so fast you’ll have months to see his long locks again, before it’s time for another cut.
Girls are another story. Jacked up hair is in the cards for them, I’m afraid, until their old enough to insist on a pro job.
That’s how it was for me, anyway.
Yeah, you should just give him a buzz. The Vanilla Ice thing is killing me. LOL
My favorite part of the whole thing is, “Those are some jacked up bangs.” I know that look because I have cut Mickeys hair with clippers and Chase came in and said, “Can’t you pay someone to do that?” I’m sorry, I think I recall hearing hearing, “Don’t ever work with kids and dogs.” Of course, granted, I’m not an actress, but I play one in my house.
Cool pix. No judging. Nice haircut. Enjoy him before he starts giving you lip.
Love and lovin’ your comment today. It’s part of the post tomorrow.
Haha! I had the same problem with D’s hair when I let it grow out. It was fine and silky and just hung in his face. I just made him deal with it. I know, I’m terrible. He finally learned to hang his head just right so he could see.
AHHH I’m literally laughing out loud at these.. i m diggin’ the whole nilla ice and the conjunctified bangs.. I love you guys…ahh…haha… i really do…
wow, you are a wonderful mother, could I have a son? Could I really love a ‘little prince?’ Gosh he looks just like Chris now. woweeeezoweee~~ kid-n-play need to take a # they have nothin on him! lol
Thanks for the belly laugh. I NEEDED that today.
This boy is definitely “his parents’ child”! He is beautiful, and hair is something kids and moms and dads have to deal with. But LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!Wow! Love it!
Oh my! You make me laigh so hard, I’m glad that James sits still–although your shots have given me some excellent ideas for his next cut. At least Macen can’t gripe when he doesn’t like his.
